Discovering the Intriguing Plot of Captain America 4
Marvel has been keeping a tight lid on plot details for ‘Captain America: New World Order’ in typical fashion. However, director Julius Onah did provide a tantalizing hint about the film’s genre at the San Diego Comic-Con in 2022, describing it as a “paranoid thriller”. It’s becoming increasingly likely that the movie will follow in the footsteps of ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’, one of the most highly praised films in the entire MCU.

The Winter Soldier drew inspiration from political espionage thrillers of the 1970s. Such as the 1975 movie ‘Three Days of the Condor’, which starred Robert Redford as the villain, Alexander Pierce. The Captain America films have always delved into themes of broken political systems and distrust in government. However, it’s still unclear what kind of fascist conspiracy Sam Wilson will be facing in ‘New World Order’.
Another exciting development is that Harrison Ford will be taking on the role of General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt”. Ross after the passing of William Hurt, who portrayed the character in four previous films. As some may remember, Ross had previously thrown Wilson in prison for violating the Sokovia Accords in ‘Captain America: Civil War’. So there is a history between the two characters.
