Recently, there have been so many fantastic horror movies that audiences have been spoiled. Horror fans have been delighted with new concepts and returning franchises, each with their own gloriously blood-soaked offerings. The return of Evil Dead is featured in the fittingly named Evil Dead Rise, the genre’s upcoming major release.
Lee Cronin and Sam Raimi’s new film produced by Bruce Campbell, releases theatrically in a week. Cavity Colours and Fright-Rags have launched clothing lines to celebrate the Deadite-infested surge.
Deadly Shirts for Deadites
Five designs from the Fright-Rags collection are based on the eerie scenes from the new movie. The Fright-Rags collection includes five designs featuring haunting images from the new film. Fright-Rags’ designs showcase possessed Ellie peeking through a peephole and the official poster of Deadite Ellie clutching her doomed children. Deadite Ellie’s now-famous line from Rise, “Mommy’s With The Maggots Now,” is displayed next to her in the final artwork. The mere sight of those words on a tee is enough to send horror enthusiasts into fits of delight.
Cavity Colors has an impressive art piece in their collection by Devon Whitehead, featuring Lily Sullivan’s Beth with a bloody chainsaw, ready to protect her family. The artwork has captivating details, such as Beth running on a scratched record, bloody elevator buttons, and multiple Deadites, including one with a cheese grater.
The design is available in t-shirt and zip-up hoodie formats. The Cavity Colors collection also includes jogger sweatpants with Ellie’s bloody Deadite face and the Necronomicon. The deadly cheese grater also makes an appearance in the design.
The Plot of Evil Dead Rise
“Evil Dead Rise” ditches the traditional cabin in the woods setting for a densely populated LA high rise apartment block. Ellie and Beth, two estranged sisters who have been away for a long time, are eventually reunited in the novel. Ellie’s family reunites but their happiness is short-lived when they find the Necronomicon and the Deadites target Ellie. Beth must act quickly to save Ellie and her family before the Deadites regain control.
Rise’s marketing is exceptional, showcasing violent blood and gore visuals with a hint of deliciously demented campiness, highlighting Evil Dead’s strength. The series has a reputation for using that lethal combination. Rise made its debut at the South By Southwest Film Festival last month as well, and the glowing reviews have just heightened the already intolerable anticipation for Rise. Rotten Tomatoes has given the movie an incredible 95% approval rating, which will undoubtedly make Evil Dead fans demonically grin from ear to ear.
