The movie companies said in February that they were planning to create Upcoming Lord of the Rings films that would take place in the Third Age. Which is when Serkis’ cunning and sad character Gollum lived. Peter Jackson, the filmmaker of the original trilogy, and his writing group are in discussions about perhaps working on the new films.
