A novel production company is dedicated to bringing captivating science stories to life through various forms of media
Cognito Entertainment, an independent production company located in Los Angeles and Palo Alto, was founded by renowned neuroscientist and Stanford professor Dr. David Eagleman, alongside producers Matt Tauber and Adam Fratto. The company specializes in creating science-centered programming and films, including scripted TV series, documentaries, and literary adaptations.
Eagleman believes that we are currently experiencing an extraordinary time in scientific advancement. He says,
“From exploring the mysteries of the brain to discovering the secrets of space and genetics, there are countless fascinating stories waiting to be shared. Despite a world that may seem chaotic at times, science can provide us with inspiration, wonder, and hope.”
Alongside his scientific work, Eagleman is a best-selling author, a Guggenheim fellow, and an Emmy-nominated screenwriter.
Cognito Entertainment has already begun work on several projects, including an international film adaptation of Grace Chan’s novel “Every Version of You.” This science fiction tale follows a pair of lovers separated by both the metaverse and reality. Additionally, the company is developing a six-part series about Galileo Galilei, the famous Renaissance scientist. The show is being written by “Motorcycle Diaries” producer Karen Tenkhoff, with Jon Levin serving as the executive producer.
Eagleman is also behind “The Invisible Enemy,” a docuseries that examines how germs, diseases, and viruses have impacted human civilization throughout history. The series is hosted by Seema Yasmin.
Before joining Cognito Entertainment, Matt Tauber was the vice president of development for Short Drive Entertainment at Sony. Meanwhile, Adam Fratto ran the scripted department for the History Channel and has produced popular television series such as “Cleverman” and “Haven.”
In conclusion, Cognito Entertainment is a trailblazing production company that aims to use science to inspire and captivate audiences across various media formats.
