The upcoming film “Honor Among Thieves” features a surprising cameo from Bradley Cooper, who plays a Hobbit-sized resident in a mythical landscape. Co-director John Frances Daley, who previously worked with Cooper on the short-lived series “Kitchen Confidential,” credits Cooper’s appearance to their friendship and Cooper’s admiration for the film.
“It was originally another actor [in that scene],” the actress reveals to Yahoo Entertainment, explaining that Cooper’s cameo was filmed entirely separately. “They added [Bradley] after the fact and then told me about it. I was like, ‘What?'” But Rodriguez adds that she has had a close encounter with Cooper separate from the film. “I like him in real life: I think he’s a cool dude.”
The cameo has been praised for its comedic relief, with Michelle Rodriguez calling it a “spoof within the movie.” While the film boasts a celebrity cast, the filmmakers intentionally avoided padding it with too many famous faces, making Cooper’s appearance all the more impactful.
The movie also includes a cameo from the Dungeons & Dragons animated series characters in its climax, a detail that Wizards of the Coast, the current owner of D&D, pushed for. Overall, “Honor Among Thieves” promises to be an entertaining adventure with unexpected surprises.
