Season 2 of Star Wars: Visions will incorporate animation from around the world in addition to anime. An animated anthology series called Star Wars: Visions will make its Disney+ debut in the autumn of 2021. It will feature unique stories that are either based in or inspired by the Star Wars universe. With work from seven different Japanese companies, who were all allowed free reign to present a fresh and varied viewpoint on the series through their art without being compelled to conform to the established canon, the first volume of nine short films introduced anime to the Star Wars universe.

Waugh’s full quote

“We stated that we would be producing volume two of Visions. The inaugural anthology features anime since we all adore its aesthetic, but I wanted Visions to always include a wider range of styles because there is so much excellent animation being produced now. There are so many fascinating voices in a variety of various media who are currently heavily invested in animation. And we really wanted it to be, in a sense, a “sub-brand” that invited many creators to enjoy Star Wars from their particular cultural viewpoint.

Thus, Visions volume 2 is essentially a tour to some of the most intriguing animation companies in the world. There are studios here from India, Chile, England, Ireland, and Africa. And that was our guiding principle: We wanted their narrative to represent both what Star Wars meant to them culturally and the myths and tales that could only emerge from that setting. We are now aiming for spring of next year, and I believe the anthology is really stunning.”

Based on this revelation,. Tt may be assumed that Waugh and the rest of the Star Wars crew recognise. Respect the importance of using animation to present many cultural viewpoints. There aren’t many that come to mind that actually fully hand over the reins to allow those of different cultures to demonstrate their own perspectives in animation themselves. As Star Wars has, despite the fact that many animation studios in the western world have frequently been influenced by an. imicked the styles of other world regions and cultures.

Sum It Up!

The upcoming Season 2 of Star Wars: Visions will feature a wider range of animation styles from around the world, beyond just anime. The anthology series allows various cultural perspectives to be showcased in their storytelling. With Season 2 featuring animation studios from India, Chile, England, Ireland, and Africa. This decision reflects the creators’ recognition and respect for the importance of diverse cultural viewpoints in animation. The release date for Season 2 is set for spring of the following year.
