Since its August 2014 premiere, the popular television series has broadcast six seasons, each of which adapted a different novel volume from the series. Outlander: Blood of My Blood, a prequel series that centres on Jamie Fraser’s parents, Brian and Ellen Fraser, was also formally announced for a ten-episode first season in January 2023. In the middle of this, Outlander fans eagerly awaited the seventh season, which was formally confirmed in March 2021.
Due to its length, the interval between the fifth and sixth seasons of Outlander earned the moniker “Droughtlander” among fans. The season six finale aired on May 1, 2022, and viewers had been immersed in this Doughtlander for about a year. The well-liked historical time-travel drama will shortly return for its seventh season and has even hinted at an eighth.
‘Outlander’ Season 7: Plot
The return of Jamie’s foe Tom Christie from the Ardsmuir jail in Season 6 increased tension on the Ridge. Claire is suspected of being the lady who was reviled when Malva Christie, one of her close medical apprentices, was killed. She is accused of the crime and hauled to town to face trial. Before Ian saves him, Jamie is set to be deported on a ship; they could go and save Claire.
Season 7 will pick up where season 6 left off, and viewers will see how Claire escapes the courtroom and whether Malva’s real killer is apprehended. It will be based on, and probably adhere to, the plot of, An Echo in the Bone, the seventh novel in the Outlander series.
‘Outlander’ Season 7: Trailer
Jamie Fraser tells Claire about a dream in which he saw her surrounded by light in the first scene of the teaser. We see the devastating Fraser’s Ridge fire. Which inspired Brianna to go through time, the Declaration of Independence, Brianna’s pregnancy, and—most startlingly—Claire’s hanging verdict.
Claire queries Jamie about how he can recognise something he has never really seen at the end of the teaser. In response, he asks, “If I can dream of the past. Why can’t I dream of the future?” leaving the future season full of exciting things for fans to anticipate.
