Release date
We learned that the spinoff series would debut in June 2023 on January 10, 2023. The Walking Dead: Dead City will debut immediately following Fear the Walking Dead’s midseason finale on Sunday, June 18, 2023, at 10 p.m. ET on AMC and AMC+, according to a statement from AMC. Following the premiere, AMC will air the remaining six episodes of the six-episode series on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET, with a streaming version available on AMC+.
Cast
Maggie Rhee, Glenn Rhee’s widow and the previous head of the Hilltop Colony, will once again be played by Lauren Cohan. Negan Smith, a cruel figure and former Saviours leader, is played once more by Jeffrey Dean Morgan. There is some conflict between the two characters as a result of Glenn Rhee’s murder. Gaius Charles (Friday Night Lights), a newcomer to the franchise, will play Perlie Armstrong, a new figure that Screen Rant describes as “a devoted family man” who will do anything to defend his loved ones. His personality is cutthroat, just like Negan’s.

On the production team, only experienced members of The Walking Dead are present. Eli Jorné (Wilfred), a co-executive producer and writer for The Walking Dead, also developed the Dead City series.
